THE NORTHERN LAKE GEORGE AREA WELCOMES THE New York State Bass Federation Grand Slam Bass Tournament
Pam Bliss 607-974-1531
Every year (since 1982) this entire community of "BASSTOWN", U.S.A." sincerely welcomes the NEW YORK STATE BASS FEDERATION. The Federation holds their Annual Opener Tournament, which is traditionally the first – and largest -- in the waters of Hague on Lake George.
Over 200 Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) fishermen, from all over New YorkState, participate in this popular fishing event. This Fall Tournament one of several such B.A.S.S.Federation tournaments held throughout the state over the Summer. The Tournament has many sponsors: Warren County, the Towns of Hague and Ticonderoga, The Hague Volunteer Fire Department, The Hague Fish and Game Club and members of the Hague-on-Lake George Chamber of Commerce. Truly, the entire Community works together to set up and coordinate many tasks to ensure successful Adirondack sport fishing tournaments.
In keeping with the tenor of making the Adirondack Sport Fishing Tournament Weekend one in which the entire Hague NY community can participate the Fire Department has sponsored Steak Roasts and the Chamber of Commerce has sponsored special dinners in the Hague Community Center.
Each year, and in the true spirit of their organization, the NYS BASS FEDERATION promotes the 'Catch and Release Program'. Additionally, each year B.A.S.S. members significantly contribute to and support our local Beste Scholarship Fund.
